New Police Recruits for St George

Since the Minns Labor Government came to office in 2023, over 80 new recruits have joined St George Police Area Command.

After 12 years of Liberal neglect, the Minns Government has been committed to supporting and expanding our police force, including:

  • 19% base pay increase to non-commissioned officers over four years
  • Updated and improved allowances
  • Moving to a full-time equivalent (FTE) model to allow police to work part-time or job share if they can’t manage a full-time work load but don’t want to leave.
  • A one-off $5,400 Leadership Retention Payment to senior police officers who undertake a leadership and wellbeing training program focused on supporting and rehabilitating injured officers and helping them return to work wherever possible;

The St George Police Area Command plays a critical role in protecting our community and supporting the Minns Labor Government's efforts to crack down on Hooning and Illegal E-Bikes.

I am proud to see so many new officers join the team in St George since we came to Government.

The Minns Government remains committed to supporting the NSW Police Force through investment in recruitment, frontline resources and community safety initiatives that strengthen policing services across the state.
