Steve was born and raised in the electorate of Rockdale, attending Sans Souci Public School for primary education and James Cook Boys Technology High School for his high school education. 

Before entering the world of politics, Steve was a Partner in the family accounting firm at Sans Souci, which has since moved to Rockdale. 

Steve is trusted by local families and businesses having both public and private sector experience, including being a former President of the Sydney Olympic Football Club. After thirty years as an Accountant, Steve joined politics and was elected as a Member for Rockdale in 2015. Steve was sworn in as the Minister for Small Business, Lands and Property, Multiculturalism and Sports, in the incoming Minns Labor Government on 5 April 2023. 

Steve is married to Magda and together they have five children and nine grandchildren. 

Steve is hard working and represents the community to the best of his ability to ensure our area remains a wonderful place for all of us.
