Australian Chinese New Arts Society 

The Australia Chinese New Arts Society is based in the St George area and aims to provide the ongoing promotion of cross-cultural understanding of the experiences of Chinese-Australian migrants.

3Bridges 

3Bridges is community-based organisation that focuses on:

  • Assisting parents during the arrival of a new baby
  • Providing outside of school hours care
  • Early intervention youth programs for children
  • Aide for seniors across a range of services such as home support, social groups and aged care

Bay City Care

Bay City Care is a non‑profit organisation that works to address a variety of social issues in collaboration with the community, government and non-governmental organisations. Founded in 2007 as the welfare arm of the Bay City Church, it provides services to the unemployed, sole parents, homeless persons, or otherwise disadvantaged individuals regardless of race, religion, or gender.

Bay City Care provides a range of services including domestic violence support for women and children, counselling services from professionals with over ten years of experience for a range of addictions, and vital food relief services.

In addition to food relief, Bay City Care also provides emergency payment assistance for energy and an ongoing weekly food support service.

Bayside Men's Shed.

Bayside Men's Shed is a team of hardworking volunteers that use their carpentry skills to build colourful toys for children in need, from model planes to miniature furniture for doll's houses.

This year, these toys will be donated to the Samaritan's Purse charity which sends shoeboxes full of toys and necessities to disadvantaged children to countries all around the world.

The Bayside Men's Shed provides opportunities for men from all walks of life to come together to spend time with each other and work on meaningful community projects. Year after year, the men at Bayside Men's Shed demonstrate what skill, teamwork and kindness can achieve.

Bayside Women's Shelter

Bayside Women's shelter provides a supportive environment for all women of any age, sexuality, cultural and linguistic diversity, disability or mental illness.They allocate beds to women with or without children, who are homeless as a result of domestic and family violence first, while also offering support and shelter to other homeless women whenever possible.

Safety for there residents is of paramount importance. They carefully screen people who may come to us with impaired mental health, drug or alcohol dependencies, to ensure that these issues are currently well-managed and will not interfere with any woman’s ability to live in a shared space. 

Bayside Women's Shelter also can help Women in need find legal support, achieve financial independence, get medical care, and education.

Better Connected Rockdale

Better Connected Rockdale is a local, not-for-profit community service that’s all about supporting people to live well, stay independent, and feel connected. Better Connected Rockdale provided services from aged care to family support, and even lawn and garden maintenance. People come to them for friendly support, tailored care, and a sense of community they can count on.

Exodus Youth Worx - Sans Souci

Exodus Youth Worx is a non-profit that seeks to help youth at risk of crime of homelessness by providing mental health support, family and domestic violence support, and drug and alcohol support services. They are always looking for more volunteers.

Fix It Sisters Shed

The Fix It Sisters Shed are a not-for-profit voluntary organisation aims to teach women both practical and creative DIY skills, thereby empowering them in the process.

There are more than 40 Women's Sheds in Australia, focusing on knitting and cooking but the Fix It Sisters Shed in Kyeemagh is Sydney's first Women's Shed and has a fully equipped workshop. 

The Fix It Sisters Shed always have various projects they work on. Some of their recent achievements are building 30 penguin burrows for Eurobodalla Council for the start of the penguin breeding season in 2022; building floating nesting grounds or islands for swans and turtles for a Reserve in Botany in 2023; and this year, repurposing previously used banners and flags into bags, pillows, tablecloths, cushions and pot plant holders, all to support worthy causes.

Kogarah Community Services

Kogarah Community Services offers a broad range of services designed to support people at every stage of life. Whether you’re an older adult seeking social connection and support to live independently, a parent in need of quality care for your child, or a community member looking for inclusive programs and practical help.
KCS Aged Care Services include the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and the Support at Home program, which provide care and assistance to people aged 65 and over, helping them remain safely in their homes for longer.
KCS Children’s Services cater to primary school-aged children, with before- and after-school care and vacation care offered at Kyeemagh Public School and Carlton South Public School.
KCS also has Intergenerational Programs bring together people from ages 0 to 99+, fostering connection, reducing isolation, and adding joy to people’s lives through meaningful, cross-generational interaction.

Kogarah Storehouse

Kogarah Storehouse works in partnership with local grocery stores to provide fresh food and produce to those who otherwise may go hungry. 

They also run urgent payment assistance and emergency no interest loan programs.

St George Community Services Centre

St George Community Services Centre, Operated by the NSW Government department of Communities and Justice, provides services such as Child Protection, Housing, and homelessness support.

St George Family Support Services

St George Family Support Services aims to ensure Children in the St George area have a safe, happy, and healthy childhood by working with families and new parents to build their knowledge, skills, and resilience.

The Guild Theatre Rockdale 

The Guild Theater, based in Rockdale is one of Australia's best community theatres, usually aiming to put out 4-5 productions a year. 

Founded in 1952, The Guild Theatre has become a staple of the Rockdale Community.

The Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George.

The St George Intellectual Disability Foundation provides supported employment over 100 people across the greater St George region, as well as vital family support services that give guardians, carers and family members the best possible advice in assisting their loved ones.

St George Intellectual Disability Foundation also offers business support services and an employment hub that seeks to provide dignity at work to everyone in St George.

The Regals Musical Society

Founded in 1945, The Regals Musical Society is a community based, not-for-profit organisation in Sydney, Australia. The Society produce quality musical theatre productions, based in Rockdale NSW, with the objective of engaging our audiences and nurturing the talent of their members.

Zonta Club Of Botany Bay

Zonta Botany Bay is a group of women from various career backgrounds with a common goal of improving the status of women.

 

They meet each month on the 4th Tuesday at 6.15pm at Club Menai, 44 Allison Rd Menai.

 

The Zonta club runs a number of charity events and fundraisers, as well as scholarships and financial support for young Women in leadership across the St George area.
