BETTER HOSPITALS AND MORE HEALTH WORKERS

Working with Premier Chris Minns, we're delivering better hospitals and more health workers to improve health services across St George.

$411 MILLION ST GEORGE HOSPITAL UPGRADE COMPLETE!

Construction on the $411 million St George Hospital upgrade is now complete.

The new 9-storey Kensington Street Building will bring more health services under one roof and allow our nurses, doctors and healthcare staff to deliver better care, faster.

NSW Health staff will start moving into the building and testing workspaces.

New and expanded services include three levels of inpatient beds, expanded ambulatory services, new operating theatres and surgical centres and palliative care.

We’re also delivering more health workers including 24 additional nurses at St George Hospital to deliver better care.

MORE HEALTH WORKERS ACROSS ST GEORGE

After 12 years of the Liberal National Government neglecting our health system and attempting to privatise health services and hospitals, we’re getting on with the job of delivering better health services in our community.

Bricks and mortar are just the first step. We’re making sure we have the health workers needed to run our hospitals. That starts by improving pay and conditions - with the largest pay rise for health workers in over a decade.

In just three years, in our local health district alone we’ve recruited an additional 296 nurses, 61 doctors, 37 paramedics, and 7 allied health professionals.

We still have a lot more to do and I’ll keep working to deliver the local health services you deserve.
